NCSD Families,
Please note there is a misprint on our printed district calendars. It should state November 3rd as Election Day, with students off school for teacher in-service. The misprinted version has election day incorrectly placed on November 10th.
Our apologies for the error.

This weekend orchestra students performed at Norwood’s International Art Show-we are so proud of our community and the support it shows our students.

Norwood City School District believes we each play a vital role in the success and strength of our community and school. Our 26.27 district theme is Stronger Together, individually we are each a thread in the bigger picture but together we can make something amazing.
Our 1st NMS Golden Thread award has been given to Mrs. Rachel Miller, she works so hard to make Norwood Middle School an amazing place to be - she serves as a lead for our PBIS and BLT team, as well as represents us on the DLT. She has served as a building curriculum leader, team lead and overall peer support person. She has taken on many challenges at NMS, from the 6th grade orientation organization, to providing tech support as well as her willingness to try new initiatives and provide assistance to the implementation of all aspects of our work! Mrs. Miller - thank you for making Norwood such an amazing place to be - we truly are Stronger Together!

👀 PEEP… Something Exciting is Coming to NMS! Attendance TRIBE Challenge
For the 2026–2027 school year, NMS staff and students are taking attendance to the next level with our brand-new ATTENDANCE TRIBE CHALLENGE!
Last school year, NMS reduced chronic absenteeism by more than 5%—an accomplishment made possible by the hard work of our students, families, and staff. This year, we’re raising the bar with a goal of reducing chronic absenteeism by at least another 3%!
The Attendance TRIBE Challenge grew from the ideas and efforts of our own students who worked to improve attendance last year. The challenge is simple:
BE ON TIME. BE IN CLASS. BE THERE FOR YOUR TRIBE.
Our Advisory Tribes include students from across grade levels, giving our older students opportunities to mentor younger classmates while strengthening the Norwood Connection throughout NMS. Tribe members will encourage one another, hold each other accountable, and work together toward a common goal: showing up and making every school day count.
And speaking of surprises… 👀
Our Pre-Engineering students are already hard at work creating something special to help us crown our first Attendance TRIBE Champions of the year! We aren’t giving away the surprise just yet—but we think our students are going to love it.
We’re ready to hit the ground running, build on last year’s success, and see which TRIBE rises to the challenge!
🔴🔵 SHOW UP. STAND TOGETHER. STRENGTHEN THE TRIBE. 🔵🔴
